Golf Cart Repair in Rancho Mirage
Rancho Mirage carts split between long-established country club fleets and the newer street-style carts that have arrived across the valley over the last several years. The two need genuinely different diagnosis.
Older carts
The familiar list: solenoids at $100–$250, charge ports at $100–$300, brakes from a $75 adjustment, tires that have cracked in the sun, and lead-acid packs that the valley’s heat has shortened.
On these, the diagnosis order is what saves money: load test every battery individually, check the charger output and the charge port, check the solenoid before the controller, and roll test for a dragging brake before anybody blames the pack.
Newer street-style and lithium carts
More electronics, and a different first question.
Charging faults dominate. A charger that will not start, a charge port that has developed resistance and heat, or, on a lithium cart, a battery management system that has put the pack into protection. All three look identical from the driver’s seat: the cart is dead.
A BMS protection event is not a failed pack. It is the system doing its job after over-discharge, extreme temperature, or a cell drifting out of balance, and in many cases the pack comes back. Anyone quoting a new lithium pack without first checking for a protection event has not done the diagnosis. In a valley where garages pass 120 degrees and carts sit for months, temperature and over-discharge protection events are not rare.
Accessory circuits hide parasitic draws. Lights, signals, horns, audio. A parasitic draw is one of the ways a cart that sat for a few weeks ends up flat enough to trigger a BMS latch.
Storage advice is different. Lithium wants a partial state of charge and the main disconnect used, where lead-acid wants a full charge and a maintainer. Applying one set of habits to the other chemistry is how avoidable problems happen.
Warranty
A cart still inside its factory warranty belongs with the selling dealer for covered work, and we will tell you so rather than send a tech. Where an independent service like ours is useful on a newer cart is everything warranty does not cover: tires, brakes, accessories, damage, batteries past their term, and diagnosis when you want to know what you are dealing with before booking a dealer appointment weeks out.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you come to Rancho Mirage?
Yes, it is a short run from Palm Desert. Gated and country club communities are common; include the community name, the address, and any gate instructions when you book.
What does it cost?
The published rates: $50 to $100 service call usually applied toward the repair, lead-acid packs $1,200 to $1,800, lithium conversions $1,600 to $3,500, brakes $75 to $400, tires $75 to $150 each, solenoids $100 to $250, controllers $300 to $600.
Do you work on the newer street-style carts?
Yes. They carry more electronics than an older cart, which is mostly an advantage because fault information is available rather than guessed at, and the charging system is where most of their calls come from. On a lithium cart a dead-looking pack is often a battery management protection event rather than a failed pack, and checking that first is the difference between a diagnosis and an expensive assumption.
Can you get to a cart that is dead in a garage?
Yes, and it is routine. Say so when you book so our tech brings the tools to the cart rather than working from the street.
